Alberta Women Entrepreneurs

History

In 1994, Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) researched the business environment and found there were significant gaps for women entrepreneurs when it came to being able to access financing and related business services. To help address these gaps, WD created Women's Enterprise Initiatives in each of the four western provinces. AWE was established in 1995 as part of these initiatives with the aim of assisting women who want to start, expand or purchase a business.

Since our inception, AWE has helped women entrepreneurs in Alberta succeed in achieving their professional business goals. Today, we continue to strive to meet our vision of helping all women entrepreneurs successfully contribute to building Alberta's economy. We look forward to building ongoing relationships and providing the best possible level of support to all our clients.
