We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through the department of
Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD). WD’s mandate is to promote the development and diversification of the economy of Western Canada and to advance the interests of the West in national economic policy. WD works to improve the long-term economic competitiveness of the West and the quality of life for its citizens by supporting a wide range of initiatives targeting three inter-related strategic priorities:
- Innovation
- Entrepreneurship
- Community Economic Development
AWE works closely with women in business networking groups and entrepreneurship service providers across the province.
Highlights of Partnerships
- AWE administers and adjudicates the Canadian Youth Business Foundation’s microloan program as a supplement to our financing program.
- Our relationship with the Business Development Bank of Canada has expanded opportunities for entrepreneurs to finance their businesses.
About Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF)
CYBF is a national charity dedicated to championing tomorrow’s entrepreneurial nation builders. They invest time and money in aspiring young entrepreneurs, age 18-34, who have a great business idea, but find it difficult to obtain financing or mentoring through traditional sources.
About Business Development Canada (BDC)
BDC helps to create and develop Canadian businesses through financing, venture capital and consulting services, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).They're solely dedicated to Canadian entrepreneurs and have a nationwide team helping more than 28,000 businesses reach their full potential.
