James Keirstead, Vice Chair
President, Levven Electronics Ltd.
James is a serial entrepreneur and recently the President of Levven Electronics Ltd. an electronics engineering, design and manufacturer in Edmonton and developers of the GoRave multiroom audio system and GoConex switch without wires.
In 1997, James was one of the original partners who purchased Blue Falls Manufacturing, a struggling hot tub fabricator in Edmonton. The group redesigned, rebuilt, and rebranded the product for niche sales as a cold-weather product, Arctic Spas. In the process pulling the company from a loss position and building it into one of Canada’s fastest growing companies. BFM has been recognized in the PROFIT100 for three consecutive years, and was named one of Alberta’s Fast 50 by Alberta Venture Magazine in 2005.
The company has received two International Business (“Stevie”) Awards and a variety of other local, provincial, and regional recognition. James and his partners received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2005® (Manufacturing, Prairies Region) and in early 2006 Blue Falls was recognized as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies.
