Heather Barnhouse

Heather Barnhouse is a partner in the Corporate/Commercial group at Dentons Canada LLP, based in the firm’s Edmonton office. She works closely with women entrepreneurs as they grow and scale their businesses, supporting them through complex legal and strategic decisions at every stage.

Heather’s practice spans a wide range of corporate matters, including financing transactions, cross-border technology licensing, corporate structuring and optimization, succession planning, contract negotiation and review, and navigating complex business relationships. She is known for providing thoughtful, practical guidance that helps founders move forward with clarity and confidence.

A long-standing advocate for women in leadership and entrepreneurship, Heather hosts Dentons’ podcast Women in Leadership and Entrepreneurship, where she highlights the real experiences and challenges faced by women building businesses and leading organizations. She is also deeply engaged in her community through board service with both private companies and non-profit organizations.
