A CPA and assurance partner dedicated to strong financial governance and inclusive leadership, bringing deep advisory experience to support women entrepreneurs.
Heather Barnhouse Board Director
A corporate and commercial lawyer supporting women entrepreneurs as they grow and scale, bringing legal expertise and practical business insight to support AWE’s mission.
Louise Lee Board Director
Louise is a securities lawyer and co-leader of BLG’s Driven by Women initiative who specializes in guiding female entrepreneurs through the legal complexities of scaling businesses, raising capital, and navigating mergers and acquisitions.
Kristen McGillBoard Director
Kristen McGill is a former ZayZoon COO and fractional executive who leverages her background as a Chartered Accountant to help high-growth, mission-driven companies build the operational systems and leadership frameworks necessary to scale sustainably.
BOARD OF DIRECTOR RECRUITMENT
Our Board of Directors is comprised of a diverse group of professionals who are committed to AWE’s vision. Ideal candidates are passionate about AWE's mission and contribution to the economic benefit of Alberta and understand the challenges and opportunities faced by women entrepreneurs. Holding a seat on the AWE Board is an opportunity to collaborate on the policies and business practices needed to realize gender parity.
Application Process
If you are interested, please submit an application to the AWE Board Secretary containing a resume or CV along with a cover letter highlighting qualifications and interest in joining our Board.
We thank all applicants for your interest. Applications will be reviewed in relation to Board governance needs. Only those selected for interviews will be contacted to advance to the next step in the selection process. New Directors will be elected for a renewable three-year volunteer term.
