BOARD DIRECTOR

Kristen McGill, board director at Alberta Women Entrepeneurs

Kristen McGill is the founder of a fractional COO and executive coaching practice focused on helping high-growth companies turn ambitious visions into scalable, sustainable businesses.

As former Chief Operating Officer of ZayZoon, Kristen played a key role in building the operational foundation that supported 40x revenue growth over six years and more than $70M raised across multiple funding rounds. With a background as a Chartered Accountant and deep expertise in operations and HR, she brings a rare combination of strategic insight and hands-on execution.

Kristen works closely with founders and leadership teams to design the systems, frameworks, and rhythms needed to break through growth ceilings without losing culture along the way. She is particularly passionate about mission-driven, for-profit companies and believes that as these businesses scale, their ability to create meaningful impact multiplies.

Beyond her professional practice, Kristen mentors with Movement51 to support women-led ventures and serves as an advisor with ScaleUp Week and other organizations focused on strengthening Canada’s startup and tech ecosystem. Her work is driven by a commitment to supporting operators and women leaders who often carry immense responsibility—and by her vision of a future where the next generation can lead with both ambition and authenticity.

At AWE, Kristen contributes deep operational expertise, growth-stage perspective, and a strong belief in the power of women-led businesses to build stronger, more resilient economies.
