Request for Submissions: Workshops, Advising and Guest Speakers

Alberta Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enabling women to build successful businesses. AWE provides women entrepreneurs with access to capital, business advice, practical training, and a supportive community to start, scale and succeed.

Alberta Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) is now seeking submissions for workshops, guest speakers, and business advisors. AWE training sessions are targeted towards small to medium groups (10-50 attendees) and can be delivered in Alberta either in person or through technology.

If you are interested in being added to our Workshop, Speaker or Advisor list please detail your qualifications, relevant experience, what you think you can offer to AWE clients, and a description of the training (including learning objectives). Please also include the contact information for two professional references and a link to a video of you speaking on that topic for 2-5 minutes.

Speaking Topics

We are looking for topics intended for entrepreneurs who have been operating their small or medium businesses for at least 1-2 years. Submissions should be related to one of the following areas:

  • Technology options for business

    • E.g. improving a company website, supply chain applications, enabling remote work, creating an app for your business, productivity software, and customer service tools

  • Human resource management

    • E.g. diversity initiatives, workplace policies, labour laws, etc.

  • Financial management

    • E.g. strategies to improve cash flow, digital accounting management, digital budgeting, negotiating

  • Marketing, specifically digital marketing

    • E.g. Google Ads, social media (specifically LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube)

  • Other industry-specific topics related to business growth.

We are not currently looking for topics that focus on early-stage businesses.

Topics are selected on an as-needed basis. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted to discuss their proposal further.

Selection of submissions for the 2024/2025 speakers and advisors will be based on the experience and qualifications of the trainer and the relevance of the proposed topic.
